Sharjah: Pakistan cricket team’s batsman Abdullah Shafiq has been ducked out without scoring a run in four consecutive T20 International cricket matches. This is the first time in the history of T20 international cricket that a batsman has been ducked out in 4 consecutive matches.
Pakistan team is currently playing T20 cricket series against Afghanistan team. The Afghan team has won the series 2-0. In the second T20 of the series in Sharjah, Shafiq lost his wicket lbw on the very first ball he faced.
The 23-year-old made his T20 debut against Zimbabwe in November 2020. So far he has played 5 T20 matches. He scored 41 runs in the first match only. He has ducked out in all other matches.
In the last four T20 matches he has played, he has faced 7 balls and lost a wicket without scoring any runs. He has been out twice each against New Zealand and Afghanistan without scoring a run. It is noteworthy that the main players of the Pakistan team did not play in this series against the Afghanistan team.
