About 70% of auto spare parts are currently manufactured in India. It should be raised to 100 per cent. It has all the facilities to manufacture auto spare parts fully in India. Therefore, imports from abroad should be stopped completely. Vehicle manufacturing companies need to actively approach domestic production. Otherwise, the tax on imports of spare parts will be raised.
The Government aims to make India a global hub for vehicle production in the next 5 years, Minister Nitin Gadkari said.
Anuchi Ayukawa, President of the Automobile Manufacturers Association of India, said, “Government policies should be designed to increase the production of electronic components. The semiconductor product needs government support.
