Why the project?
The slogan of Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana is Strong Women, Strong Family, Strong Society, Strong State, Strong Nation. In view of the fact that women’s participation in the labor sector continues to be low and this hinders women from achieving economic independence, the scheme was launched in Madhya Pradesh.
It is estimated that the health and nutritional quality of children who are dependent on women can be improved through the project. The representation of women in the workforce in Madhya Pradesh is only 23.3 per cent in rural areas and 13.6 per cent in urban areas. It is in this context that the Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana will be launched on January 28, 2023, aiming at the upliftment of women.
Benefit in the scheme
The Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana offers various benefits. This scheme under the Government of Madhya Pradesh transfers financial assistance directly to the bank account of the beneficiary women. A monthly amount of Rs.1000 is paid into the account. 12,000 rupees will be given annually to the deserving women. In addition, senior women are given an additional pension of Rs.400 each.
