Most of those who left Kuwait are Indians. According to the Public Authority for Civil Information, 52 per cent of Indians left Kuwait between January and December.
According to figures released by the Kuwaiti daily Al Rai, the number of Indians living in the country has dropped from 989,270 at the end of 2020 to 69,592. In 2019, it was 1.5 million.
Egyptians make up 22.5 percent of the total number of foreigners leaving Kuwait during the above period. About 30,032 Egyptians left Kuwait. This brought the total number of Egyptians in the country to 666,050. In 2019, it was 696,082.

The third are Bangladeshis. Last year, 13,076 Bangladeshis left Kuwait. The number of Bangladeshi communities in Kuwait dropped from 282,591 in 2019 to 269,515 last year. The number of Filipinos has dropped since 6,111 people left Kuwait last year. By the end of last year, the number of Filipino communities in the country had dropped to 241,113. In 2019, it was 247,224.
