Chennai: Indian cricketer Murali Vijay has announced his retirement from international cricket. He announced his retirement through a tweet.
38-year-old Murali Vijay hails from Tamil Nadu. Played List A and First Class cricket. He got the opportunity to play for the Indian team since 2008. He played 61 Test matches for the Indian team and scored 3891 runs. This includes 12 centuries and 15 fifties.
He has also played 17 ODIs and 9 T20Is for the Indian team. Not only this, he has played for Chennai, Punjab and Delhi in IPL cricket. After 2018, he did not get a chance in the Indian team. He has announced his retirement in this environment.
“I am retiring from all formats of cricket. I express this with gratitude at this time. I would say this journey from 2002 to 2018 was the most amazing years of my life. Because I am proud to have played international cricket for India. I will be grateful for the opportunity given to me by BCCI, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, Chennai Super Kings and Chemblast Sanmar team.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all my teammates and coaches who helped make my dream come true. I am grateful to the fans who have supported and encouraged me,” said Murali Vijay.
