21% drop in Infosys CEO’s pay; 15 crore lost!
Infosys, the country’s second-largest IT company, has released some salary figures for the last financial year (2022-23). While the average salary of employees has increased, the annual salary of the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has shown a decline. Salil Parikh, the CEO of Infosys, has reportedly seen a 21 percent cut in his salary in the financial year 2022-23.

Salil Parikh earned a total of 56.44 crores in annual salary and benefits during the last financial year. 71.02 crores he drew as salary in the previous financial year (2021-22). Salil Parikh faced a shortfall of 15 crores in salary in one year. The details regarding this are mentioned in the annual report of the company.

He had cashed in 1,24,783 shares received as Restricted Stock Units (RSU) in the financial year 2022-23. Salil Parikh earned Rs 30.60 crore through this. This is also included in the remuneration figures of the last financial year. Meanwhile, Salil Parekh got a 43 percent increase in his salary from 2021-22 to 2022-23 financial year.

Meanwhile, it can be seen that there has been an increase in the salary of Infosys employees during the last financial year. During the financial year 2022-23, the average salary of employees has increased to Rs 9,00,012. The average salary of employees during the financial year 2021-22 was Rs.8,14,332. An increase of 10 percent can be seen in the salary of employees in India. The annual report also points out that the salary of the employees has been increased at the rates prevailing in other countries.

Globally, IT companies have been the focus of investors during the Covid pandemic. The hope that digitalization in the industrial and commercial sectors will accelerate and the growth of companies will accelerate in its wake has made IT companies and their shares an attractive circle. But IT stocks have been facing a correction over the past year as inflation has risen, interest rates have risen sharply, companies have cut costs and the threat of a recession in the western world has intensified.
