Mumbai: It is reported that India’s first bullet train to be operated from Mumbai to Ahmedabad will travel through water for a distance of 21 km.
Work is in full swing to run a bullet train from Mumbai, Maharashtra to Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The project is based on Japan’s Shinkansen technology. This project is to be executed at a cost of Rs.1.08 lakh crore. Officials said that 26 percent of the work has been completed so far. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this project will be implemented in 4 years.
Earlier, the project was said to be completed by December this year. However, due to delay in land acquisition, the completion date of the project is reportedly getting delayed.
The bullet train departs from Mumbai and stops at one stop in Maharashtra. After that, the train stops at Surat and Sabarmati stations in Gujarat. It is reported that this train will pass through the water for a distance of 21 km along the Thane region of Maharashtra. According to officials, passengers can get the experience of traveling under water in India.
