The Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand was a tragedy. A bus carrying passengers fell into a valley, killing 22 people. There were 28 passengers on the bus at the time of the accident. Six people were injured in the incident. The accident took place when a bus carrying devotees to Yamunotri fell into a brook in Danta area on Sunday. It seems that everyone on the bus is from the state of Madhya Pradesh. SDRF personnel along with the police immediately took supportive measures after the incident. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed shock over the accident. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident. District officials immediately called for relief. Meanwhile, the central government has provided Rs. 2 lakh compensation announced. Rs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said he will donate Rs 50 lakh. The PMO tweeted to this effect.
