On the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, in front of ABES College, a vehicle coming from the opposite direction and going to the main lane of the Expressway.
Six people died in a road accident on the Meerut-Delhi Expressway in Ghaziabad on Tuesday. This accident happened due to the school bus running on the wrong side. The traffic police is also accepting that the main reason for major accidents is driving on the wrong side. To stop this, several plans were made on paper, but could not be implemented.
after the accident ‘Daily newspaper’ visited the expressway from Ghaziabad’s Dasna Interchange to Delhi’s Akshardham Temple i.e. about 30 km distance and tested these flaws. There are three points in this distance from where the vehicles board on the wrong side.
- First know about three points

In the Vijaynagar area on the expressway, the stand of buses and autos is on the side lane of the expressway itself.
1- Dasna Interchange
In Ghaziabad, the drivers who boarded the expressway via Hapur Road from the Police Line side were seen running on the wrong side to save just two kilometres. To say that four traffic police personnel were stationed here, but their focus was only on stopping big vehicles. Four wheelers and small vehicles were passing through the wrong side without any hindrance.
2- Cut in front of ABES College
While going from Meerut towards Delhi, two roads are formed after crossing Lalkuan. One road is going to go directly to Delhi and the other road is going to go to the link roads of Noida-Ghaziabad. Four wheelers boarding the expressway from Lalkuan drive in the opposite direction for about 200 meters in front of this cut to come into the main lane of Delhi.
It is only double lane and every second vehicles pass from the front here. In such a situation, the danger of accidents remains. A traffic cop appeared here, but there was no stop.

See in this picture… Cars are coming and going face to face on the same lane on the expressway.
3- Indirapuram Entry-Exit Point
This is the border area of UP-Delhi. Here on one side of the expressway is Delhi and on the other side is the area of Ghaziabad. The school bus which hit the TUV had boarded in the opposite direction from this point. Actually, there is a CNG pump here. After getting the CNG filled, the drivers should come back to Ghaziabad via the Ghazipur border underpass. But they come in the opposite direction to avoid this distance. Due to which this accident happened.

NHAI has set up a CCTV control room near Dasna on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. It was inaugurated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari a few months ago. This control room was made to monitor every activity of the expressway.
An artificial intelligence-like system was developed for vehicles standing on the expressway and vehicles moving in the opposite direction. Which used to detect such vehicles itself and inform the control room. On Tuesday morning, the bus which killed 6 people ran in the opposite direction for about 8 kilometers on the expressway. No one saw this in the control room.
