Some states are making payments to residents who meet certain requirements, and the maximum amount that can be received from these payments is $1,500.
1. New Jersey
New Jersey is sending payments from the New Jersey Affordable Communities program for homeowners and renters.
In this program, homeowners can receive a payment of $1,500 if their annual income is $150,000 or less, or a payment of $1,000 if their annual income is between $150,001 and $250,000.
Renters will receive slightly less than homeowners, however they will still have a $450 payment.
As of March 2023, more than 1.7 million New Jersey residents have applied for the program, including 1.25 million homeowners and more than 514,000 renters.
2. Georgia
According to the Georgia Department of Revenue, residents of this state will receive an additional tax refund this month.
The refund amount will be $250 for single taxpayers, $375 for head of household taxpayers, and $500 for married couples. filing a joint tax return.
In order to be considered eligible for this refund, a beneficiary must have filed an individual income tax return for tax years 2021 and 2022 by the April 18 deadline.
3. New Mexico
According to the New Mexico Department of Taxation and Revenue, by mid-June residents of this state will receive tax refunds.
Payments will be $500 for single taxpayers and $1,000 for married taxpayers. who filed a joint return.
To be considered eligible for this refund, New Mexico residents must have filed a 2021 personal income tax return by May 31, 2024.
