Chennai: Apart from Chennai ICF, most Vande Bharat trains are being manufactured at factories located at Sonipat, Latur and Raebareli. Railway Minister Ashwin Vaishnav said that in the coming financial year (2023-24), 2 or 3 Vande Bharat trains will be manufactured every week.
Regarding the Union Budget, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told the media from Delhi through the web application:
2.4 Lakh Crores have been allocated to the Railway Department in the Central Budget. It is a budget for all parties in the society. With the amount allocated to the Railways, whatever the passengers think of, it can be made possible. Under the Independence Golden Jubilee India scheme, 1,275 railway stations are to be rehabilitated.
Work is already underway for this. It’s more inspiring. ‘Vande Bharat’ train is now manufactured only at Chennai ICF. It takes a week to make a train. Vande Bharat train will be manufactured in 3 factories at Sonipat in Aryana State, Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh and Latur in Maharashtra from next financial year. From April onwards, 2 or 3 `Vande Bharat’ trains will be made per week including these 4 destinations. This will make the Prime Minister’s dream of connecting all parts of our country possible.
8 Vande Bharat trains are currently running. These trains have traveled around our country 52 times. We are planning to run Vande Bharat trains across the country.
85 percent of routes across the country are electrified. Apart from this, emphasis is also given to green energy. Under Self-reliant India, a hydrogen-powered train is being developed. The work will be completed by December. The train will run on the Shimla-Kalka hill route.
We are in the process of identifying separate routes for connecting ports, handling cargo including cement, and mountain areas.
An announcement will soon be made to run additional trains to various important destinations including Shirdi.
Earlier, 4 km of railway was laid every day. Currently, 12 km daily. A railway line is being built in the distance. This will be increased to 14 km daily in coming years. A railway line will be laid in the distance. This is what he said.
