32 tonnes of stale food items seized; Qatar has strengthened the inspection

Qatar: Last day the authorities decided to strengthen the inspection in Qatar. The inspection took place within the limits of Al Waqra Municipality. Authorities seized 32 tons of stale food items during the inspection. The inspection was conducted in nine food outlets. The inspection was conducted in Birkat Al Awameer area of ​​the municipality.

During the inspection, an eatery was operating without a licence. Officials informed that the old food items seized from the shops were destroyed. The inspection was conducted jointly by the health department and public sanitation department of the municipality. It was decided to conduct such an inspection as a part of ensuring food safety and health. The authorities have decided to intensify the inspection in the coming days.
