The Sharjah Sports Council announced the organization of the Sharjah International Youth Basketball Championship, which will be held in Khorfakkan stadiums from December 27 to 30, with the participation of 350 players from 23 teams, in cooperation with Jam Sports Academy, representing the countries: UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, India, Serbia and Spain .
This came during a press conference organized by the council in the covered market in the Sharq area in Khor Fakkan, and was attended by a number of sports leaders, and the head of the Sharjah Sports Council, Issa Hilal Al-Hazzami.
He added that “organizing the tournament is a natural extension of the council’s approach, which aims to organize local and international tournaments for the different age groups in Sharjah, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Sharjah Foundation. For women’s sport, which requires everything that would raise the level and honor international representation.”
In turn, the head of the collective games department at the Sharjah Sports Council said: “The championship matches will be held over four days in the halls of Khorfakkan Sports Clubs, Khorfakkan for the Disabled, University of Sharjah and Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation in Khorfakkan.”
