Lump sum payments in the amount of 10 thousand rubles have already been received by 39.3 million Russian pensioners. This was announced on Tuesday, September 14, by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova during a meeting of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with the government of the Russian Federation and the leadership of the United Russia party.
“To date, 39.3 million people have already received the payment. The remaining 3.5 million people will receive payments by September 16 within the timeframes set for the delivery of pensions by post offices, ”said Golikova.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation also said that by September 1, 20.6 million citizens received benefits for school-age children. According to her, the total amount of payments amounted to 206 billion rubles.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced on August 30 that the government will allocate 454 billion rubles for payments to pensioners. He pointed out the importance for people to receive this money as quickly as possible.
On August 22, the head of state proposed an additional one-time payment of 10 thousand rubles to all pensioners in the country in 2021. Also, at the end of 2021, he offered to make a one-time payment to servicemen on average in the amount of 15 thousand rubles, and two days later he instructed to extend this measure to cadets and law enforcement officers.
The decision was made against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic and rising inflation. On August 24, the president signed a decree on a lump sum payment to pensioners. The measures will affect about 43 million citizens.
