The epicenter is five kilometers deep in the sea of Oman. The Earthquake Monitoring Center of Sultan Qaboos University stated that the earthquake occurred around 10 am. The quake was recorded 57 km northeast of Sur province in South Al Sharqia.
Meanwhile, an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale was felt in the Gulf of Oman on Saturday, the UAE’s Khaleej Times reported citing the UAE National Center of Meteorology. NCM informed that the earthquake occurred around 10 am UAE time.

RIYADH: Pitches Fives Riyadh became the champions in the 4th Tug of War competition for the Mass Ever Rolling Trophy jointly organized by Mukkam Area Service Society (Mass) Riyadh, an association of residents of Mukkam, Riyadh and Almadina Hypermarket.
Leading teams from Riyadh and GCC participated. KSV Riyad bagged second place and Kaniv Riyad bagged third place in a thrilling battle. The trophy for the winning Pitches Fives Riyadh was presented by Mass Riyadh President Ashraf Mecheri and 1001 Riyals presented by Alvafa Hypermarket to Arshad MT. 701 riyals and a trophy by Seychelles Dry Foods to the second runners-up were presented by Seychelles Company Manager Nias Madavoor and Mass Treasurer MK Faisal.
Company Manager Najeeb Shah and Vice President Mass Riyadh Jabbar Kakkad distributed 501 riyals and a trophy to the third runners-up. Social activist Nawaz Vellimadukun inaugurated the event at Arkan Sports Village on New Kharj Road. Mass President Ashraf Mecheri presided.
