Many other flights on this route were also delayed. IndiGo uses Boeing 777 aircraft on the Turkey route, which can seat about 500 passengers. The airline (IndiGo Airlines) had issued a statement saying that the stranded passengers were given hotels to stay. The Indian Embassy in Istanbul had also said that it is in touch with the airline and the stranded passengers have been provided launch, accommodation and food.
