The delegation of the girls’ modern sailing team leaves for Manama, today, to participate in the first Arab Women’s Championship, which Bahrain is hosting until next Saturday.
The team’s roster includes five female players: Doha Al-Bishr and Camelia Al Qubaisi, who will participate in the (Ka 6) competitions, and Marwa Al Hammadi and Al Yazia Al Hammadi (Ka 4 category), while champion Madiya Khaled Al Neyadi will participate in the (Optimum) competitions.
The Emirati champions are entering the upcoming event with the ambition to compete and achieve achievements, after the remarkable brilliance they showed in official participations and international forums, as they proved their mettle and merit in many Arab tournaments, including the 15th Arab Games in Algeria, in which they achieved three bronze medals through sacrifices of humanity. (Alka 6), Al Neyadi Club (Bronzeta Optimist), and the 16th Arab Championship for Teams, in which champion Doha Al Bishr won the gold medal.
It is noteworthy that the Arab Sailing Championship for Girls is the first of its kind at the girls’ level, and witnesses the participation of eight Arab teams, led by the UAE team, which competes with the teams of Bahrain (the host country), Kuwait, Oman, Algeria, Tunisia, Iraq and Egypt.
