New Delhi: From baby tabs to high end tabs of Rs 2 lakh and above, the demand for tabs is on the rise again. In 2020, the Indian tablet market grew by 14.7 per cent to 28 lakh units. Lenovo’s sales have grown by 6.6% compared to 2019.

Samsung dominates the tab market. The strong presence in the tab component distribution also helps Samsung to make more gains. The market share has increased by 13%.

The report was published by IDC. Lenovo has become the world’s largest consumer of tabs with a 153% increase over 2019. In second place is Samsung. At the same time, Apple has significant growth in the premium tab segment. Apple’s exports grew by 13 percent. The Apple iBall is in third place. Stock availability was the main problem Apple faced throughout the year.

Consumer exports grew by 59.8 per cent compared to 2019, while commercial exports declined by 14.3 per cent. Some government projects have been postponed to 2021.

In the budget segment, the demand for tabs in the country is high and the demand for tabs, which are priced between Rs 7,500 and Rs 15,000, is high. This segment accounts for more than half of India’s total tablet exports. At the same time, the market for premium tabs above Rs 30,000 has grown by 72.3 per cent.
