The competitions of the third edition of the Arab Taekwondo Championship, classified as one star, were concluded, which was held at the Zayed Sports Complex under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, organized by the Fujairah Martial Arts Club and supervised by the Emirates Taekwondo Federation.
The clubs and the UAE national team won 56 colored medals, including 13 gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 32 bronze medals.
Saudi male and female players won 19 medals, including 6 golds, Jordan 18 medals, including 5 golds, and the Arab Republic of Egypt won 23 medals, including 4 golds.
The President of the UAE Taekwondo Federation and the Supreme Organizing Committee of the tournament, Dr. Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, accompanied by the President of the International Taekwondo Federation, Dr. Chung Won Shui, crowned the winners, as Omar Yasser won the award for the best Palestinian player. Fujairah club player Rawan Ibrahim won the award for the best promising player, while the referees Abdullah Al-Ali (UAE), Amir Barhoum (Iraq), Ahmed Al-Adarbeh (Jordan) and Malika from Kazakhstan won the best referee award in the tournament.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi stressed the importance of hosting the Arab Cup, saying: “The tournament has achieved the standards of success that we aspired to, and showed great levels, especially with the participation of elite players with achievements, which reflects the importance of the tournament for the participating countries.” Stressing that the Arab Cup comes within the efforts of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club to host the largest number of sporting events within the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, to attract sporting events and make the Emirate of Fujairah a destination for sports champions.
