Vaishnav said that this spectrum allocation will be completed by August 10. He said that the currently sold spectrum is enough to provide 5G services across the country. He said that the successful completion of 5G spectrum auction indicates the healthy growth of the country’s telecom sector.
Reliance Jio of Reliance Industries emerged as the top bidder in the 5G spectrum auction. It bought 5G spectrum bids by spending more than Rs.88 thousand crores. The Union Minister said that Reliance Jio was the only bidder who bought 700 MHz even in 22 circles. 700 MHz has a range of 5 km to 10 km. In total, Jio has acquired 24,740 Mhz. The spectrum it has acquired includes 700, 800, 1800, 3300, 26GHz. Jio has spent Rs.88,078 crores for these.

Three other telecom companies Bharti Airtel bought 19,867 MHz spectrum at a cost of Rs 43,084 crore. Vodafone Idea has spent Rs.18,799 crores for spectrum acquisition. Adani Data Networks, a new entrant in the telecom sector, bought 400 MHz spectrum for Rs.212 crore.
