Six Arab clubs are awaiting the draw for the knockout stages of the African Champions League, which will be held by the Confederation of African Football, tomorrow evening, Wednesday, in a hotel in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) stated on its official website that the draw process will be broadcast live through its official platforms and partner TV channels.
The Egyptian Al-Ahly Club completed the contract for the teams that qualified for the quarter-finals after its victory over Al-Hilal of Sudan with three clean goals in the match that was held last Saturday, to qualify by direct confrontation difference, to win the title of the second group, and to join seven teams that had decided their qualification earlier, which are Shabab Belouizdad and JS Kabylie from Algeria and Taraji. Al-Tunisi, Wydad, and Al-Raja from Morocco, Simba Tanzanian, and Sundowns of South Africa.
The 8th round of the current edition of the African Champions League includes 6 Arab teams, which are Al-Ahly of Egypt, Chabab Belouizdad and JS Kabylie from Algeria, Esperance of Tunisia, Wydad and Al-Raja from Morocco.
The qualified teams were divided into two levels, the first includes the first-place owners in the group stage, which are Sun Downs, Wydad, Al-Raja and Al-Taraji, while the second level includes the group runners-up, namely Al-Ahly, Simba, Belouizdad Youth and JS Kabylie.
The draw will avoid the teams that were in one group in the group stage.
Wydad and JS Kabylie qualified from Group A, Sun Downs and Al-Ahly qualified for Group Two, Moroccan Raja Casablanca and Simba Tanzanian for Group C, Tunisian Esperance and Algerian Belouizdad Youth for Group Four.
It is scheduled that the draw will witness the path of all teams towards the final round, which will be held in a back-and-forth match system again, where the semi-final draw will also take place, and determine the two teams that will play the first-leg match at their stadiums in this round, as well as the two clubs that will play the second leg at home.
The first leg round of the golden square in the tournament will be held on May 12 and 13, while the return round will take place a week later, provided that the first leg in the final round will be played on June 2, and the competition will conclude with the second leg on the ninth of the same month.
