Jameel Shafi and Naveed Bil Wani, natives of Karachi, stole the luxury vehicle from London. Customs officials said that their arrest has been recorded. It is not yet clear how the car reached Karachi safely from London.
The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement (CCE) has confirmed that the car, worth around 250,000 pounds (PKR 6 crore), was found parked at a house in Karachi. The car was found on September 4, 2022. A gray Bentley Mulsanne V8 automatic, VIN number SCBBA63Y7FC001375, engine number CKB304693 was stolen from London.
The thief stole the car in a clever way but forgot to turn off the GPS system. After the car was stolen, the police started an investigation and found the exact location of the car using advanced tracking technology, the police said.
The stolen car was identified by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Customs. The number plate of the car was completely changed. The FBR officials found that the vehicle had a Pakistani registration plate and a white hand-made number plate on the front.
When the FBR inspectors raided the house, the Bentley had a white hand-made registration plate with BRS-279 written on its front and a Pakistani identification number plate BRS-279 (2020 Sindh). The tax collection agency said the car’s chassis number matched that provided by the UK authorities.
