New Delhi: The Central Government has informed that 60 lakh cases are pending in the High Courts across the country and 69 thousand cases in the Supreme Court.
Union Law Minister Kiran Rijiju, in his written reply to a question asked in the Rajya Sabha yesterday said:
According to the website of the Supreme Court, as on February 1, 59,87,477 cases are pending in 25 High Courts across the country and 69,511 thousand cases are pending in the Supreme Court. Allahabad High Court has maximum 10.3 lakh cases pending and Sikkim High Court has minimum 171 cases. The central government is taking various steps to quickly investigate pending cases and give verdicts. It says so.
