Today, the sandy “Beliosti” track in the Romanian capital, Bucharest, is hosting the second edition of the “Al Wathba Stallions” Cup race for purebred Arabian horses, at the Racing Festival of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The festival is held with the encouragement of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, with the aim of supporting owners and breeders in most countries of the world, and motivating them to increase interest in purebred Arabian horses.
The track witnesses the participation of eight Arab horses at the age of four years and over for a distance of 1260 meters, from the elite European horses from France, Bulgaria and Romania, in the “Al Wathba Stallions” cup race, the prize of which is 5000 euros.
The nominations are led by the French horse “Hermes de Etoile” led by Aref Asinov, and “Alban” led by Lukov Dobrin, each of them by Ivan Yordanov Dimitrov, under the supervision of Emin Muhammad, and the Romanian mare “Maha” by Viorel Dibaga, under the supervision of the same owner, and led by the Romanian jockey Julia Popescu.
There is also the Romanian horse “Wala” by Maria Villette Kinda, under the supervision of the owner herself, and the rider’s leadership Sando Octavian, and the French horse “Java Poison” by Christo Stoyanov Khestov, under the supervision of Ivan Georgiev Ivanov, and the leadership of Radostin Ivanov, and the Bulgarian horse “Darhan” by Andrian Spasov, supervised by Mustafa Ismail, and led by Esen Yankov.
The festival includes the crown jewel of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Zayed Cup, the Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Cup, the “Al Wathba Stallions” Cup, and the International Forum for Purebred Arabian Horse Racing.
The activities of the 15th edition of the World Festival began last January 11, when new races were added in this season 2023, and 152 local and international races will be organized around the world, including races that have been upgraded to classified categories, including races for the first, second and third categories.
