The first delegations participating in the first Gulf Youth Games began arriving in the Emirates hours before the start of the major sporting event, which the Emirates is hosting during the period from the 16th of this month until the 2nd of next May, with the participation of 3,500 male and female athletes, competing in 24 games under the slogan “Our Gulf is One.” “Our youth is promising.”
24 hours before the start of the tournament, the UAE organizing committees are putting the final touches, promising to present an exceptional edition, while technical preparations for the teams have intensified, promising strong and unprecedented competitions. For its part, the Emirates Golf Association announced that 8 male and female players would participate in the tournament.
Golf competitions will be held in the capital, Abu Dhabi, on the grounds of the Abu Dhabi Golf Club, during the period from 25 to 28 of this month, with the participation of teams: Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait, in addition to the Emirates.
The youth team’s list includes players: Rashid Essam Al Jasmi, Mohammed Skaik, Sayed Rayan, and Thomas Nesbit, while the women’s team’s list includes: Asia Slim, Fay Al Balushi, Wanka Mathieu, and Jamie Kamer, in addition to coach Faisal Al-Sarghini and coach Flora Pioch.
The Secretary-General of the Golf Federation, Khalid Al Shamsi, confirmed that the team participating in the first Gulf Youth Games went through various stages of preparation in the previous period, through its presence in Arab and Gulf championships for juniors, boys and girls in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to many tournaments. Locally at the Asian level, participation in the Asian Youth Championship, which was held at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club Stadium, represented a final stop for the team to reach the highest levels of success.

The Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, Saeed Hareb, confirmed that all the sporting capabilities and facilities in Dubai are being harnessed and placed at the service of the first Gulf Youth Games.
Dubai will host six sports competitions: table tennis at Shabab Al Ahly Club, volleyball at Al Nasr Club, athletics and track and field competitions for people of determination at the Dubai Police Officers Club, ground tennis on the Top Spin Academy courts, and electronic sports.
