New Delhi: An 88-year-old man from Punjab won a lottery ticket worth Rs 5 crore. A 40-year lottery ticket winner has won a bumper prize.
Makant Dwaraka Das (88) hails from Terabasi, Punjab. He has been buying lottery tickets for the past 40 years. But never won a bumper prize. A bumper lottery of Rs 5 crore was sold on the occasion of Makarasankaranti. Dwaraka Das bought a lottery ticket by giving money to his grandson. The draw was held on 16th. In this, Dwarka Das has received a prize of Rs.5 crore.
Regarding this, he said, “I am very happy that the bumper prize of Rs. 5 crore has fallen in the lottery ticket. I have been buying lottery tickets for about 35 to 40 years. I will give this money to my two sons,” he said.
Punjab State Assistant Lottery Director Karam Singh said that 30 percent of the prize money falling in the lottery will be taxed at 30 percent and the remaining amount will be given to Makand Dwarka Das.
