Following this, Pakistani soldiers conducted a search operation at the air force base and shot and killed 9 terrorists. The Pakistan Army said that the 3 planes damaged in the terrorist attack were old planes that were not in use, and none of the Air Force planes in use were damaged.
Terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the attack. Condemning the attack, Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Khaggar said, “Any attempt to attack security forces will be thwarted.” Pakistan Interior Minister Sarbaraz Bukhti said, “This terrorist attack is a conspiracy to destabilize Pakistan.”
