Yesterday, the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Zayed Charity Race announced the completion of preparations for the launch of the 23rd edition of the Abu Dhabi Race, next Saturday, from the Erth Abu Dhabi Hotel, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region.
The Supreme Organizing Committee, headed by Lt. Gen. Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, revealed a high rate of registration in recent days, with numbers reaching about 9,000 participants from various age groups, after they completed the registration procedures via the race’s website, whose total prize pool is One and a half million dirhams.
The committee called on all those wishing to participate to quickly complete the registration procedures before the official list is approved during the next few days, with the start of the countdown to the start of the race, the proceeds of which will be allocated to the benefit of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, to enable people living with multiple sclerosis to live a normal life, through awareness, support, and striving to find treatment.
She pointed out that accompanying events will be held on the sidelines of the race, and an entertainment village that includes children’s games, and many food and beverage facilities, to provide a distinctive experience for event followers in different age groups.
The race begins at 7 a.m. for the People of Determination category for a distance of 10 km, followed five minutes later by a 10 km race for the professional category, then a five km race for the professional category begins at 7:07 a.m., a 10 km race for the general registration category at 7:25 a.m., and a A five-kilometre race for the general registration category at 7:35 a.m., and a three-km race for the general registration category at 7:45 a.m., leading to Honoring the winners at nine in the morning.
The Supreme Organizing Committee announced the provision of parking and transportation services in Wahat Al Karama between 4:30 am and 5:30 am, and in Zayed Sports City between 4:30 am and 6:30 am, and closing the roads to car traffic at 6 am.
