Citizens showed interest in the events where SOLOTÜRK’s, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mehter Team and folk dance teams from different provinces took part.
Bitlis Governor Erol Karaömeroğlu, who came to the event area and visited the tents and received information about the works, said in his speech at the opening ceremony that they organized the event under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in cooperation with the Bitlis Governorship, Ahlat Municipality and the Archers Foundation.
Stating that Ahlat is the title deed of Anatolia, the name of the will to re-raise civilization, and the seal of the rise that gives fear to friends and enemies, Karaömeroğlu said:
“Ahlat is the common heritage of the Islamic world, which has witnessed many war scenes in the past, hosted many civilizations and hosted many cultures together. Therefore, it has been awarded the title of Kubettül Islam. Our Ahlat, which contains approximately 10 thousand monuments, has an important place today as it did in history. It looks like an open-air museum with its mosques, cupolas, monumental tombstones, madrasah, bridge and zawiyah. Ahlat has always preserved its importance with its geopolitical location, historical and cultural identity. “We are obliged to hand it over with the same sensitivity. May the souls of Sultan Alparslan and our martyrs, who made these lands our homeland 952 years ago, rest in peace. May Allah not embarrass us against our martyrs.”
Beyoğlu Mayor and Archers Foundation Board of Trustees Chairman Haydar Ali Yıldız said that they meet in Ahlat every year on August 26 to commemorate the martyrs of the Manzikert Victory.
“As we were a thousand years ago, today we are one, together, we are brothers, we are shouting that we will always be one, together and brothers, happy march.” Yıldız said:
“Greetings to Sultan Alparslan and his army, who gifted us the great victory. They entrusted us with a homeland. This homeland will be ours forever. We are Seljuk with Sultan Alparslan in 1071, we are Ottoman with Fatih Sultan Mehmet Han, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in 1919-1923.” We are the great and powerful state of the Republic of Turkey that will exist forever. We celebrate our thousand years of victory in the 100th anniversary of our Republic. We meet every year in Manzikert and Kubbetül Islam Ahlat. With the spirit of Manzikert, Çanakkale and the national struggle, we announced to the world today with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and said to the death, Manzikert On July 15, you showed the whole world that your soul is fermented in this land. We congratulate you, we congratulate you.”
Ahlat Mayor Abdulalim Mümtaz Shepherd stated that the area of activity was full and said, “We have been on these lands for a thousand years. We are exactly where the work started. This was the gathering place. Whoever has approached this land with evil eyes since our glorious victory has disappeared, our nation has existed and will continue to exist. ” said.
The “Grape Cluster” show performed by the Gendarmerie General Command Steel Wings Team within the scope of the events was watched with interest by the attendees.
