The President of the Chess Federation, Tarim Matar Tarim, inaugurated the UAE Individual Rapid Chess Championship, hosted by the Dubai Chess and Culture Club, with the participation of 97 players from various game clubs in the country, as part of the agenda of local competitions organized by the Game Federation throughout the season, and the opening was attended by Abdul Karim Al Marzouqi, Secretary General Al-Ittihad and Mohammed Al-Husseini, Executive Director of the Dubai Club.
The opening day witnessed great excitement at the male level with the participation of 58 players, as the lead changed several times, and Imran Al Hosani, the Abu Dhabi Club player, succeeded in snatching the lead from Omar Numan, the Sharjah player, who took the lead in the first two rounds, and Imran scored 4 points in 5 rounds, followed by the same balance. Abdul Rahman Muhammad Al-Taher, the player of Sharjah Club, and 6 players are equal with 3 points, and they are Ahmed Farid, Hamad Al-Balushi, Rashid Abu Bakr, Ahmed Al-Khamiri and Muhammad Al-Awadi.
On the female level, 39 players participated in the tournament, and Dubai Club dominated the summit after the fifth round through Ahlam Rashid with a score of 4.5 points and her colleague Anoud Ahmed, and Anoud Issa, the player of the Chess and Culture Club for Girls in Sharjah, equaled them. 3 players were equal with 4 points, they are Aisha Saif Al Ali and Wadimah Al Kalbani.
