During the shelling of the village of the mine. N. A. Izotov in the suburbs of Gorlovka on the part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) died a 19-year-old young man, said the mayor of the city Ivan Prikhodko.
“To our great regret, the guy V.V.V., who was wounded in the village of the mine named after. N. A. Izotova, died before the ambulance arrived on his birthday. He was only 19 years old,” the mayor wrote on his Telegram channel on Thursday, July 21.
It is noted that at 18:15 local time (coincides with Moscow time), the Ukrainian army attacked the village of the mine named after. N. A. Izotov from 122 mm artillery, firing six shells. Now three people have been wounded due to the shelling of Gorlovka.
Earlier in the day, the DPR office reported that Ukrainian forces had fired six 152mm rounds at Yelenovka and five of the same caliber at Dolya in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) in an hour and a half.
On the eve it became known that the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired 20 rockets from the Grad multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) at Shiroka Balka in the DPR.
On the same day, Ukrainian militants once again shelled Donetsk and Gorlovka from heavy artillery and MLRS. It was noted that in Gorlovka one person died, three were injured.
On February 24, Russia announced the start of a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass. The operation began against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region in mid-February. Then the authorities of the DPR and LPR reported on the increased shelling by the Ukrainian troops, announced the evacuation of the civilian population in the Russian Federation and asked for recognition of independence. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a corresponding decree.
