“Of course, I am rooting for Ukraine, why not? Who am I afraid of? Of course, I know about the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Ukraine, Russia, Poland – we are all together, ”the fan said in an interview with the Bombardier YouTube channel.
In addition, the Russian said that he was born in Tula, but currently lives in Glasgow. According to him, he was not afraid to go to the stadium with the Russian flag.
A fan who came to the Ukraine-Sweden match in the 1/8 finals of Euro 2020 got his shirt torn. Before the game, the man was photographed with a Ukrainian fan. In the picture, two viewers stood embracing and smiling. However, after the match, footage appeared on social networks and Telegram channels in which a Russian in a torn T-shirt is holding his face. The tricolor was no longer with him.
Former world heavyweight boxing champion, State Duma deputy Nikolai Valuev commented on the situation, saying that the fan who came with the Russian flag to the European Football Championship match between Ukraine and Sweden did it deliberately and knew what he was doing. He added that the fan had to guess what kind of reaction from the Ukrainians his appearance would cause.
