While fans of the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah were waiting for his goal to continue a new history line in the English football stadiums, the Egyptian pharaoh was stunned by what happened in his team’s match against Bournemouth, today, Saturday, in the fourth round of the English Football League, as his team won 9 Zero without being able to score even one goal!
Mohamed Salah needed to score a goal in the match to surpass Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard in the list of historical scorers for the “Reds” in the English Premier League, with each scoring 120 goals, and they are jointly ranked second behind Robbie Fowler (128 goals).
Liverpool clinched their first Premier League win of the season in stunning fashion when they equaled the record for the biggest win of the Premier League era by crushing Bournemouth at Anfield, and the hosts established their dominance thanks to a two-goal lead in the first six minutes through Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott.
Full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold hit the net to put Liverpool ahead 3-0 in the first 28 minutes, and three minutes later Roberto Firmino scored.
And it did not stop there, as Liverpool managed to consolidate their advantage with a fifth goal before the break with a header from Virgil van Dijk.
Chris Mepham added to the tragedy of Bournemouth when he put the ball into his own net in the second half.
Firmino made it 7-0, before newcomer substitute Fabio Carvalho raised hopes of a record.
Diaz headed the ball into the net five minutes from time, making Liverpool close to being the first team to score 10 goals in a single Premier League game.
Liverpool missed several chances, surviving Bournemouth from a greater disaster.
