An informed source revealed to “Emirates Al-Youm” that the coach of the Al Ain team, Argentine Hernan Crespo, decided to exclude the team’s top scorer, Togolese international Laba Kodjo, from the “Al-Zaeem” list against Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia this evening in the first leg of the AFC Champions League semi-finals.
According to the source, Crespo believes that the team performed well during the period that witnessed the absence of Laba Kodjou due to injury, as a result of which he missed the two-legged matches in the quarter-finals against Al-Nasr Saudi Arabia. The exclusion of striker Laba represents a big surprise, especially since he is one of the most prominent keys to playing in Al-Zaeem’s ranks.
The match between Al Ain and its guest, Al Hilal Saudi Arabia, was scheduled to be held yesterday evening, Tuesday, but it was rescheduled due to the low air condition experienced in the Emirates, to be held this evening.
