On Sakhalin, law enforcement officers detained a Russian citizen suspected of high treason. This was reported on Tuesday, April 11, in the border department of the Federal Security Service (FSB) in the Sakhalin Region.
According to the FSB, the man intended to transit through the territory of a third country to go to Ukraine. There he was going to join one of the military formations in order to participate in hostilities against the Russian Armed Forces (AF).
The investigative department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Sakhalin Region initiated a criminal case against the man under Part 1 of Art. 30, art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (treason).
Before that, on April 4, it was reported that a married couple was detained in the Sverdlovsk region on suspicion of espionage in the interests of Ukraine. They were charged under the article “treason”. The couple is suspected of espionage against one of the enterprises of the military-industrial complex of the region.
Earlier, in mid-March, the FSB detained an activist from Khabarovsk for treason in the form of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU). The FSB indicated that the woman transferred money to the Ukrainian army for weapons, ammunition and uniforms.
Russia continues to carry out a special operation of Russia to protect Donbass, whose residents refused to recognize the results of the 2014 coup d’état in Ukraine. The decision to hold it was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region due to the increased shelling of Ukrainian troops.
