In honor of the Day of Russia, the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Central Military District (TsVO) organized a festive concert in the Luhansk region. This was told by the correspondent of “Izvestia” Alexander Morozov.
The concert program included well-known hits, Russian folk and Soviet songs, as well as works of a military-patriotic orientation, which were previously banned in the region. The ensemble dedicated its performance to the liberation of Luhansk from the nationalist blockade.
The creative team of the Central Military District congratulated not only civilians, but also soldiers: artillerymen, tankers, special forces soldiers on the holiday.
Performers from the Sverdlovsk Musical Comedy Theater also took part in organizing the event.
The celebration of the Day of Russia was held in the house of culture in the Luhansk region. The proximity of the front zone and the periodic echoes of the air defense operation did not affect the high spirits of the artists and spectators in any way. People in the hall sang along with the familiar melodies with pleasure, and some were so touched by what was happening that they could not hold back their tears.
The concert team plans to have several more performances at different venues. According to the musicians, this is the least they can do for the fighters so that they forget about hard battles for a few hours.
Earlier, on May 20, the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Southern Military District (SMD) performed in front of military doctors participating in a special operation to protect the population of Donbass. The concert was held in the Zaporozhye region, at the points of temporary deployment of troops. The artists performed famous domestic compositions and world-famous hits, as well as patriotic songs of their own composition.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia. The decision was made against the background of aggravation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
