The road was concreted as part of the Smart Cities Mission. A bike owned by S Murugan was parked in front of a shop. He always parks his car here. In an interview to New Indian Express, Murugan said that none of the workers who came to build the road informed about the road construction and the bike change. Their complaint is that no one informed about the concrete placement even though they were near where the bike was parked till 11 pm.

Murugan says that when he came to pick up the bike in the morning, he saw the bike in this condition outside the shop. The locals are asking how the rainwater will go now that they have concreted the drain near the road. Vellore Corporation Commissioner Ashok Kumar later inspected the road and removed the vehicle and carried out repairs. However, it is not clear whether any action has been taken against the contractor. A few days ago, a photo of a car stuck on top of an unscientifically constructed speed breaker went viral on social media.
