Organized by the Media Center of the Islamic Community (IZ) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a documentary film about Hasan Čengić, authored by Maid Dizdarević and Rabija Arifović, was premiered tonight in the Gazi Husrev-bey library in Sarajevo, reports Anadolu.
The film “Hasan” tells about some of the most significant stages in the life of this prominent Bosniak – from his education, his arrest in the “Sarajevo Process”, his role in the founding of the Democratic Action Party (SDA), his role in the defense against the aggressors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to his activities within the Islamic Community. , and the prime minister was attended by a large number of citizens, representatives of the diplomatic corps, and political and cultural life from several parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Reisul-ulema of the Islamic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein-ef. In his address tonight, Kavazović said that “we should talk about our people who were good, noble, sincere in faith and in charity, brave and reliable, tireless and persistent – and who made a great and significant contribution to this”.
“Rahmetli Hasan Čengić was one of them. The means we use in today’s age open up different possibilities and ways of preserving the memory of our meritorious and noble people. Generations that come after us, new generations, our children, should have knowledge about prominent figures from the people they belong to,” said the resiul-ulema during his address at the premiere of the documentary film “Hasan”, about Hasan Čengić.
Kavazović reminded that in the Muslim tradition, there is a special culture of memory of prominent personalities who marked the time we are witnessing, as well as the times that have passed before us, stressing that the Islamic community established Tezkiretnam with this goal – an institutional form of memory of prominent members.
“We can’t really boast that we took enough care of it in the past. The most obvious example of this is Safvet-beg Bašagić, who died between the two wars, as Midhat Begić said, in rather “museum” neglect. But he is not an isolated case, many of our great men have been pushed aside and left to fade in silence and disappear from our memory,” said Reisul-ulema.
He assessed the documentary film about Hasan Čengić as “a modest but valuable attempt to preserve in this way, first of all, our testimonies, as well as the facts, about Hasan Čengić and his extremely rich and dynamic life”.
“Our Media Center, or rather two young people, employees of the Media Center, who – why not say it here – were students of Professor Fahira Fejzić-Čengić, the wife of our late Hasan, made a documentary film about Hasan Čengić, whose premiere we are attending tonight. As Muslims, we are aware that everything in this world is transient, and that a great human work lasts a long time and is preserved in memory. Only the one who lives in faith and promotes good among people, will be satisfied with his effort and his efforts; and they will rejoice in it – in the Day in which nothing but deeds will count”, emphasized Kavazović.
He added that “such people will be remembered in this world as well, and will see their work”.
“They will not challenge him and pretend to be blind in front of him. Such a thing that does not befit believers. Almighty Allah says in the Qur’an: ‘Work hard and your work will be seen by Allah and His Messenger and the believers…’ We believe that there will be more similar testimonies about Hasan’s life and work. Both those that are documented and those that are not. However, our institutional obligation was to shed some light on Hasan’s life, as a student of Gazija’s madrasa, a student of the Faculty of Islamic Theology, a socially engaged Bosniak-Muslim, president of the Parliament, and above all, a valuable member of the Islamic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. reisul-ulema emphasized.
He congratulated the Media Center of the Islamic Community, as well as the authors of the film, Rabija Arifović and Maida Dizdarević, on this achievement.
“I hope that this debut will be a strong motivation for them to continue making similar documentaries about other prominent personalities of ours. I want you all to feel comfortable watching this documentary tonight. He will revive your memories of our good Hasan and, undoubtedly, sharpen some of your visions. May the Merciful Allah have mercy on his noble soul”, said reisul-ulema Husein-ef. Kavazovic.
The director of the Media Center of the Islamic Community (IZ), Muamer Tinjak, said that the film “Hasan” is about a man who took care of young people and helped them, and that the film was made by “young people, colleagues Maid and Rabija, of whom we are proud”.
“The late Hasan was a man who throughout his life supported young people, gave them scholarships, followed their development. We consider this in a way a thank you for everything he did. We told this story in our own way from the position of the Islamic community, it can be to talk in multiple ways, we leave room for others to do it in their own way,” said Tinjak.
Maid Dizdarević, one of the authors of the film, recalled that on this day in 1957, one of the “most significant Bosniaks in our history, Hasan Čengić, was born, and we are happy and proud to present to the Sarajevo audience and the audience in Bosnia and Herzegovina a documentary film about Hasan, who talks about the character and work of this man”.
“The message of the film is to first of all tell the story of Hasan Čengić, then the message is to show and show the contribution he made for Bosnia and Herzegovina and its people, above all the message that people who work in these and similar jobs deal with issues which are important for the state and for our people”. said Dizdarević.
Fahira Fejzić-Čengić, a family member, wife and interlocutor in the film, recalled that a year after the death of Hasan Čengić, a monograph about him was promoted, and today, August 30, on his birthday, the premiere of the documentary was held.
“I can only say that the late Hasan was a man of indomitable spirit, incredible energy. He truly worked 24 hours a day and always worked silently. This is probably a historical confirmation that people who say little and do a lot come to the fore only after they disappear from our ranks,” reminded Fejzić-Čengić, congratulating young authors Rabija Arifović and Maida Dizdarević.
She said that Hasan Čengić was a man who bent his back and spine “only during great and countless prostrations, which is the pride of all who knew him”.
She appealed to young people to watch the film, read the monograph and learn about the greats “that we really had, so that every generation in Bosnia and Herzegovina would not start from scratch”.
In the film, among others, reisul-ulema Husein ef. Kavazović, Rifat Fetić, Fahira Fejzić-Čengić, Edhem Bicakčić, Vahid ef. Fazlović, Omer Nakičević…
