Al-Qassim University announced the death of a female student and the injury of 24 others in a traffic accident involving a bus in Al-Qassim, which is designated to transport female students in the city of Buraidah, while they were on their way to the university at seven in the morning.
Qassim University said in a statement today that the accident occurred in the city of Buraidah with one of the cars on the road, which led to the overturning of the bus. Immediately after the accident occurred, the university quickly followed up with the competent authorities and went to the scene of the accident, which resulted, with great sorrow, in the death of one of the female students after she was severely injured, and 24 female students were transferred to nearby hospitals for suffering minor to moderate injuries, and they were all discharged except for two cases under follow-up and health care.
The university expressed its grief, and offered “its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the family and relatives of the deceased, asking God to inspire them patience and solace, and also asking Him to complete a speedy recovery for the rest of the injured students,” and confirms that it is working with the concerned authorities to follow up investigations about the accident.
The command and control room of the Red Crescent Authority branch in Qassim region received a notification this morning at 7:23 am, stating that there was a school bus overturning accident on King Abdul Aziz Road near the Northern Ring Road in Buraidah. Immediately, 12 ambulance teams were directed with the participation of all relevant authorities.
