The Kuwait School Sports Federation confirmed the work to establish the Gulf School Sports Federation, similar to the Gulf Football Federation and other Gulf sports federations, in a way that contributes to the implementation of the “Our Talents in Our Schools” strategy for the years 2021-2026, and its dissemination in the Gulf.
The head of the Kuwait School and Higher Education Federation, Faisal Al-Maqseed, said that the establishment of the Gulf School Sports Federation achieves many strategic goals and enhances the common Gulf visions in discovering school talents among male and female players, and developing their abilities, to support the school sports system, leading to participation in the Gulf sports teams. various aspects, in order to consolidate the vision of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries that “the future is Gulf.”
He added: “We found great welcome for this idea, because it is consistent with future trends, and we have in the Gulf region the well-established capabilities, and with joint coordination we can move on this path, and express the idea to strategic goals,” noting that “the plans adopted by the Gulf countries to enhance activities School sports will have a significant, tangible and sustainable impact on achieving positive outcomes.”
Faisal Al-Maqseed announced, “There are many communications and coordination of positions to crystallize the idea, and agree on all the data required for its implementation, through exchanging and matching viewpoints with the school federations in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and moving toward making other contacts with the school sports federations in the Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, and Qatar.”
He said: “We are confident of reaching a common position that establishes and paves the way for the announcement of this Gulf entity as soon as possible, especially since Bahrain’s hosting of the World School Games achieved the strategic goals of Gulf school reunification,” also thanking the UAE for its efforts in hosting the Asian University Congress. last year.
