A Malayali has won the world record by running across Qatar

Qatar: Running across Qatar in 30 hours 34 minutes 9 seconds is a Malayalee’s pride. Qatar expatriate and native of Thalassery, Shakir Cheerai, has acquired this achievement. Regardless of this, Shakir ran and reached his goal. The race started on the morning of 17th of this month. The race started from the Abu Samra border south of 6 am. It ran 192.14 km and arrived at Al Ruwais port in the north of Qatar on the afternoon of the 18th. He arrived at 12:54 pm.

His run was named Happiness Run. Shakir surpassed Tunisian Zadok Kochbati’s Guinness record. He broke the record of 34 hours 19 minutes 18 seconds. Authorities have declared a record related to this. Shakir has the honor of being the fastest runner to run across Qatar without a break. Shakir is an expatriate in Qatar, Shakir is an employee of Doha Bank. Shakir will own this record until the next time anyone beats it.

An Indian woman holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest cross-country runner. Last January 12, India’s ultra runner Sufiya Sufi, a native of Ajmer, achieved that feat in Qatar. The young woman ran 200 km from the south to the north of Qatar in 30 hours and 34 minutes.
