Later the case was reconsidered. The prosecution could not prove the case by giving statements or evidence. With this, the court ordered to stay the verdict of stoning to death. The court quashed the death sentence and ordered that Sameer Perinchery be given only the punishment he deserved. It was only through the intervention of Sunir Mannarkkad that Sameer Perinchery could be saved from punishment.
It was a fate that could become an embarrassment to the Indians. Suneer Mannarkad said that he was proud to be able to change the fate of a family through his efforts and thank God for this. He said that efforts will continue for the rescue of those who are still in such a miserable condition.
