Bharuch. An explosion occurred in the storage tank of an industrial unit in Ankleshwar GIDC area of Bharuch district in Gujarat on Tuesday afternoon. Four workers died due to the explosion. Police has given this information.
Bharuch Superintendent of Police Mayur Chavda said the explosion occurred when workers were working on top of a storage tank inside the premises of Detox India Pvt Ltd. Superintendent of Police Mayur Chavda said that the matter is being investigated. The police team has reached the spot. The exact cause of the explosion will be known only after detailed investigation. A few days before this, there was a massive explosion in a refinery of Indian Oil Incorporation Limited (factory) in Koyali area of Vadodara, Gujarat.
One died in this accident. After this explosion, there was smoke in the entire refinery. Evacuation and rescue operations are underway. According to preliminary information received from the police, there is no report of any casualty or serious injury in the explosion. Employees were being evacuated from the refinery amidst smoke rising after the explosion.
DCP Traffic Police Jyoti Patel had informed about the incident that the rescue operation is going on in the refinery. He further said that there is very little traffic movement on the route, hence we did not have to make any diversion. At present the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem.
