The Saudi Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Ahmed Al-Rajhi, issued a ministerial decision obligating establishments with 50 or more workers to disclose their training data annually through the “Quwa” platform.
The ministry said in a statement today, Saturday, that the decision aims to raise the quality and efficiency of training programs in private sector establishments to contribute to enhancing the capabilities and competence of their employees and sustaining opportunities for development and growth.
The ministry stated that it seeks through the decision to provide clear indicators of training data at the national level and to improve the performance and productivity of the workforce, in addition to achieving the results of the national program to stimulate the private sector in training workers and providing them with the skills required in the labor market.
The decision stipulated obligating establishments that employ 50 or more workers at the end of the current year to disclose data and training activities, including the number of hours of training and related data, and the number of trainees who completed training in the categories: (workers, students, graduates, and job seekers). The disclosed training period should not be less than 8 units per trainee per year.
These facilities are also required to disclose their training plans, data and reports related to training activity, numbers of trainees and the total budget that they will commit to for the next year.
The Ministry confirmed that this decision will contribute to achieving an accurate analytical reading of the training indicators in the labor market, as it will, according to these indicators, in partnership with the private sector, develop the necessary incentives and appropriate policies to raise the quality and efficiency of training programs for workers.
