Mohamed Magdy (Qafsha) scored a goal near the end to give Al-Ahly a 1-0 victory over the Seattle Sounders and qualify to face Real Madrid in the FIFA Club World Cup held in Morocco today, Saturday.
And the match seemed to be on its way to extra time, when Qafsha fired a wonderful shot that bounced off the crossbar and was pushed away by the American team’s defense, which is participating in the tournament for the first time, to reach the Al-Ahly player to shoot it and collide with one of the defenders into the goal two minutes before the end.
Thus, Al-Ahly, who participates in the tournament as the runner-up of the African champion Wydad due to the tournament being held in Morocco, advances to the semi-finals for the third time in a row.
Al-Ahly will play against Real Madrid, the European champions, next Wednesday evening.
