The car accident happened near Khafji in Saudi Arabia. Laji Cherian was an employee of NBTC, a major Malayali business firm in Kuwait and the manager of the general works department of the company. Presently Saudi was in charge of the project.

The accident happened while traveling to Kuwait as it was a holiday on Friday.
