Thieves are rampant in Tirupati city. They are causing panic by committing chain thefts along with theft of ATMs. Videos of a thug snatching a gold chain from the neck of a woman in an NGO colony on Thursday and running away are going viral on social media. According to the victim’s complaint, the police registered a case and launched a manhunt for the thief. Before this incident was over, a man attempted to steal and vandalized the ATM located next to the State Bank on Hare Krishna Road, Tirupati Harerama on Friday night. However, no cash was stolen in the incident. Scenes related to this incident were recorded in CCTV cameras. The police said that no case was registered as the bank staff did not file any complaint. However, there are suspicions that someone may have done this out of anger against the bank staff. When the bank manager was asked for an explanation about the incident, he said that no cash was stolen, only the ATM was destroyed. He stated that no details can be disclosed without the permission of higher officials.
