An Egyptian court obligated the former president of Zamalek Club, Mortada Mansour, to pay compensation amounting to 500 thousand pounds, in favor of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahly Club, Mahmoud Al-Khatib.
Egyptian press reports said: “The ruling came as compensation for the material and moral damages suffered by Al-Khatib, as a result of the actions attributed to Mortada Mansour in Misdemeanor No. 45 of 2022, Cairo Economic Misdemeanors.”
The legal advisor to Al-Ahly Club, Mohamed Othman, filed Case No. 5577 of 2024, Cairo Economic Civil, demanding compensation for the damages that befell the president of Al-Ahly Club, based on the criminal ruling issued against Mortada Mansour in Case No. 45 of 2022, economic misdemeanor, which was upheld on appeal. No. 399 of 2022, economic misdemeanor appellant, then it was finally upheld in cassation No. 17108 of the judicial year 92.
The Criminal Court had previously ruled that Mortada Mansour be punished with one-year suspended imprisonment, and based on this final criminal ruling, a civil compensation lawsuit was filed, which ended with a ruling in favor of Mahmoud Al-Khatib.
