In Moscow, in new quarters on the territory of the former ZIL plant, the first stage of the Vesnin Brothers Boulevard was opened. This was announced on Wednesday, February 8, by the press service of the capital’s complex of urban planning policy and construction.
As Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of the capital, said, a new pedestrian boulevard 220 m long and 45 m wide was opened. Specialists installed lamps made of Corten steel, bike racks and curved benches with a total length of about 120 m, the Moskva city news agency notes.
Bochkarev noted that the construction of the boulevard takes place in three stages. After the completion of all work, the length of the new pedestrian space of the capital will be almost a kilometer, writes Moscow 24.
The chief architect of Moscow, Sergei Kuznetsov, in turn, noted that “landscape and gardening play a significant role in the formation of new areas, and even the most spectacular architecture should not exist in isolation from an environment that is comfortable for humans,” RT reports.
Thus, the construction of the boulevard did not prevent the conservation of poplars, maples and lindens growing nearby. In the spring, mountain ash and apple trees will be added to them, numerous flower beds will be organized.
On February 7, the capital’s mayor’s office said that the improvement of the Yauza park in the capital will continue in 2023. It is planned to repair stairs, stages and clear ecopaths, as well as the creation of new bicycle and jogging paths, the 360 TV channel notes.
