The authorities of Udmurtia decided to assign the status of a natural monument of regional importance to a section of the Izh River. This is reported by the Republican government.
We are talking about the swampy floodplain of the Izh River, located in the northwestern part of the city of Izhevsk. The site was declared a natural monument and received the name “Tract” Upper Izhevsk Pond “.
The area of the object is 270.3 hectares. The main purpose of creating a natural monument is to preserve its historical ecosystem (the totality of animals and plants), clarifies IA “Susanin”.
Now on the territory of the tract it is impossible to carry out a geological study of the bowels and conduct the development of deposits, cut down trees and shrubs, build houses and roads. Also under the ban are hunting and industrial fishing, the creation of places for tourist recreation outside the permitted areas.
It is noted that horseback riding and walking along the tract are allowed, as well as picking berries and deadwood. Felling of trees is allowed, but only emergency and only in winter.
At the end of May, it became known about the intention of the authorities of the Irkutsk region to recognize the Chekanovskaya and Botovskaya caves as natural monuments. They contain numerous underground galleries, sinter formations, paleontological remains and traces of human presence.
